How Does It Work?
This wonderful initiative means that every family will be able to access at least 3 days (72 hours per fortnight) of subsidised early learning and care each week — ensuring every child has the chance to play, learn, and thrive, no matter their circumstances.
From January 2026, here's what families can expect:
3 days, every family
Every family will qualify for 3 days of subsidised care each week — no activity test required.
Up to 100 hours
Families who meet the government's activity test (such as work, study or volunteering) may receive up to 100 hours of subsidised care per fortnight.
First Nations families
Families with a First Nations child will also be eligible for 100 hours of subsidised care per fortnight.
Three days at Treasured Tots
Three days a week fits inside the 72 hours
Three days a week at Treasured Tots is 69 hours a fortnight: 11.5-hour sessions, three days a week, for two weeks. That fits inside the guarantee.
